Carey’s athletic career began at Hazelwood Central High School where he won a State Championship his sophomore year in football. Carey’s football career continued at the University of Illinois where he helped lead his team to the first outright Big Ten Championship in nearly 20 years. After graduating in 2003 with a degree in Sport Management, Davis fulfilled his dream of playing in the NFL. Davis was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a rookie free agent in 2004. In 2007, Davis signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and earned the starting fullback job to begin the season. Carey’s broadcasting career began as an analyst for the St. Louis Rams on 101 ESPN and then as a sideline reporter for the Fighting Illini. Davis would go on to coach at his alma mater starting in 2018 as the new head coach at Hazelwood Central.
